One of New Brunswick\u2019s best-loved painters, David McKay, RCA, SCA, grew up on the north side of the Wolastoq-St John River, in Barker\u2019s Point, now part of Fredericton, and spent summers in rural Prince William. A self-taught artist, he finds inspiration in the land and its people and how memory reshapes our experience of the places we live. In a career spanning over half a century, his work has been included in over one hundred exhibitions in Canada and abroad and can be found in many permanent collections througho<\/span>ut the country.<\/p>\n

David McKay: An Artist\u2019s Perspective<\/span><\/i> features a selection of McKay\u2019s works in egg tempera, watercolour, and pencil, a foreword by Governor General\u2019s and Giller Award-winning author and member of the Senate of Canada, David Adams Richards, CM, ONB, and an essay by veteran art curator Peter Buckland. It also includes an extended interview with the artist by St. Thomas University fine art students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
